Endometriosis Diet: I'm Not Perfect
You’ve heard me say it before and I’ll say it again, I follow the endometriosis diet 80% of the time. The other times, I allow myself treats and indulgences. And sometimes I go completely overboard and have to get back on track. It’s all okay. I’m human, you’re human - and sometimes that sourdough bread just looks too damn good.
I’ve managed to experience relief from most of my endometriosis symptoms, but I’m not perfect and I don’t follow the endometriosis diet (my version of it), all day every day. I don’t want you to beat yourself up if you choose to have a slice of cake at a birthday party. I want you to live your life without guilt hovering over you.
You Don’t Have to Be Perfect to Succeed
My work is all about communicating to the community what has worked for me. It’s about sharing ideas, tips, and knowledge on endometriosis management, so I spend a lot of time talking about my own experiences: the good and the bad. These days, my stories are often about how I once was (in pain) in contrast to how I am now (pain-free), and the changes I made to get there.
The response is always positive, and people find my work helpful (or so it seems), but I want everyone who reads or listens to my work to know that I’m not perfect. I don’t ever want to make an endo warrior feel guilty for eating a slice of cake or drinking a coffee or getting really drunk with their best friend.
